Claude for Small Business — Integrated Workflows

What's New

In May 2026, Anthropic launched a suite of connectors that let Claude work directly inside the tools small businesses already use — QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365. Instead of switching between apps and copying data into Claude by hand, you can run structured workflows that pull from your real business data and act on the results with your approval.

This is a meaningful shift. Most AI use up to this point has been conversational: you describe a situation and Claude helps you think through it. The new integrations make it operational: Claude reads your actual books, your live pipeline, your real campaign numbers.

The 15 Workflows

Anthropic organized the initial workflows into six business areas:

Finance

• Payroll planning — reconcile your cash position against PayPal settlement data and build a 30-day forecast before payroll runs
• Month-end close — reconcile books against settlements, flag mismatches, and generate a P&L summary to share with your accountant
• Invoice chasing — identify overdue invoices and draft follow-up messages
• Margin analysis — surface which products or services are carrying your profitability

Operations

• Business pulse — a consolidated weekly view of cash position, sales trends, pipeline movement, and open commitments
• Tax prep — organize financial data and flag deduction categories before your accountant engages
• Contract review — flag unusual clauses in agreements before signing

Sales

• Lead triage — prioritize inbound leads in HubSpot by fit and urgency
• Sales call prep — pull deal context and draft talking points before a meeting

Marketing

• Campaign execution — identify revenue gaps, analyze HubSpot campaign performance, draft strategy, and generate Canva assets in one flow
• Content strategy — surface what's performing and plan the next content cycle

HR

• Standard workflows for offer letters, onboarding checklists, and policy drafts

Customer Service

• Template-driven response workflows connected to your CRM data

How the Permissions Work

One concern with any AI integration is: what can it see, and what can it do? Anthropic's approach is explicit on both counts.

Read access matches your existing permissions. If an employee's Claude account is connected to HubSpot, they can only surface data they already have access to in HubSpot natively. Claude doesn't grant new access.

Writes require your approval. No workflow sends an email, updates a record, or queues a payment without presenting the action and asking you to confirm. Claude proposes; you decide.

Your data isn't used to train models. This applies to Team and Enterprise plans. Anthropic does not train on business data from paying accounts.

How to Get Started

The integrations are available through claude.ai on Team ($25/user/month, minimum 5 users) and Enterprise plans. A Claude Max individual plan also gives access to the connector workflows.

SMB Tour — Anthropic is running free half-day workshops in 10 cities through mid-2026 (Chicago, Tulsa, Dallas, and others). Attendees receive a one-month Claude Max subscription.

A Practical Note on Rollout

These integrations are newer than Claude's core assistant features. Start with read-only workflows — the business pulse dashboard or a margin analysis — where Claude is surfacing and summarizing data. Get comfortable with how it reads and presents your information before using flows that queue actions like invoice reminders or contract changes.

The prompt templates in this library work with Claude in its standard conversational mode and don't require any integrations. They're a good starting point if you're not yet on a Team plan or want to explore what Claude can do before connecting your business tools.
